Working closely with main contractors Advanced Labelling Systems at Georgia Pacific, CSL provided a simple but effective conveying system that singulated and accurately presented packs of shrink wrapped paper rolls in a stretch film outer to their labelling equipment. The project was challenging in as far as floor space was limited and packs exiting from the shrink wrapper, which was located 1.4m above ground level, had to be transferred downwards into the ALS labeller and then merged with a main conveyor line. Utilising a combination of powered lineshaft roller conveyors and a declining belt conveyor, CSL configured a ‘snaking’ conveyor layout that created sufficient length to enable product singulation to take place. Using two pneumatically operated blade stops with one jump chain assembly and twin line shaft for positive case acceleration, the trays of shrink wrapped paper rolls are accurately presented for labels to be applied to both sides of the pack. In order to avoid disruption to the ongoing packaging process at Georgia Pacific, CSL installed all controls, pre-wired and pre-commissioned the system at their manufacturing site to ensure site work was kept to a minimum. “CSL is a company with integrity and was very professional in the way they approached this project. The conveying system was restricted by space, but they used their expertise of conveying technology to achieve the desired goal. The system has worked proficiently since installed, we are very satisfied with their performance and would certainly strongly consider using CSL for future projects.” Steve Jones, Georgia Pacific. |
