A question often asked by customers is what are the main differences between motorised roller and powered roller conveyors....

Roller conveyors for case/tote handling, are typically available in 4 different versions:

  • Gravity (non powered)
  • Lineshaft,
  • Motorised roller
  • Belt under roller

The two most common conveyor types are the powered roller type - lineshaft and motorised roller.  As each application is different, then there are various factors to consider which affect the conveyor type selection, such as budget, product type, speeds, transfers, product contact etc.
